Real Madrid (2nd in Liga) are logical favorites (1.27) at home this evening in the 1/8 finals of the Spanish Cup against Celta Vigo (12th). The “Merengues” remained on five consecutive successes before taking a second slap this season against FC Barcelona in the Super Cup final (5-2). Obviously, Carlo Ancelotti expects a reaction from his players. The opponent seems ideal to return to victory because Celta have lost nine of their last ten matches at Santiago Bernabeu… by at least two goals eight times out of nine. Furthermore, the Galicians travel very poorly (one success, one draw and seven defeats in nine trips). Kylian Mbappé, Real’s top scorer with fifteen goals in all competitions, including four in the last six days of La Liga, could well take advantage of this to add at least one goal to his tally and qualify for the quarter-finals of the Copa del Rey to his club.
