Looking for betting advice for each of Wednesday’s two National Hockey League games? You are in the right place!

On Tuesday, we bet on two teams following the rules of the “Hot Teams Matchup” betting system: the Flyers and the Senators.

I had mentioned that I was much more confident about the Ottawa bet, and it turns out I was right. Indeed, the “” won 2 to 0, while the Flyers lost in overtime.

I also made it clear that I did not have a strong opinion on the Montreal-Utah match. I was leaning towards Utah, but I wasn’t sure enough to bet. Fortunately, I refrained from betting on this match!

BET #1: Hurricanes -1.5 (vs. Sabres)

Let’s start our suggestions of the day with the match between the Hurricanes and the Sabres. Both teams have just experienced defeat.

On one hand, Carolina beat the Maple Leafs and Canucks before losing at home to the lowly Ducks. On the other hand, the Sabers took a 2-0 lead against the Kraken before giving up six straight goals. A catastrophic performance.

So which team will bounce back? For me, the answer is the Hurricanes!

After analyzing the odds, I find that the handicap betting lines (-1.5) are advantageous for the ‘Canes. So, my first bet for today is: the Hurricanes at -1.5 with odds between 2.35 and 2.40.

The Sabers are a very inconsistent team. They can impress, like in their 7-1 win over the Islanders on December 23, then deliver an inexplicable performance like their recent loss to Seattle.

I am aware that the Hurricanes have disappointed on opposing ice this season. However, they remain one of the best teams in the league and won’t take their opponents lightly after their loss to the Ducks. I think they will be focused and come away with an easy victory at KeyBank Center.

BET #2: Marco Rossi, more than 0.5 points

Now let’s move on to the matchup between the Oilers and the Wild.

I haven’t found any good odds on teams or goal totals, but I like an option among player performance bets. My second betting tip for today is: Marco Rossi from the Wild to get at least one point.

Currently, the odds are between 1.71 and 1.83 among the majority of book takers. My mathematical model estimates that this rating should be around 1.67. As you can see, there’s some nice value here.

It seems Rossi is underrated at the moment. He’s not a big name, but he’s having a fantastic season with 38 points in 44 games.

Now, let’s say you bet on Rossi to record at least one point in each of his 44 matches. You would currently have an impressive record of 28-16, which is a success rate of 64%.

Edmonton could run out of steam tonight. They played four straight away games before returning home for a single game against the Kings.

And now they have to go back on the road to face the Wild. This is a tough situation for the Oilers. Very often, tired legs mean a less effective defense. Which means more goals scored by the Wild!
