A true institution in Limoges (Haute-Vienne), the hotel-restaurant Le Marceau closed its doors on Wednesday January 8. As explained France 3 Nouvelle-Aquitaine, the establishment created in an 1880 building was placed in liquidation by the commercial court. The walls are now for sale.
“We went from 900 to 2,400 euros per month”
The hotel-restaurant was taken over in 2017 and had five employees. The manager explains that he was strongly impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic. “The sanitary conditions for welcoming the public have caused us a huge operating loss. We went from 900 to 2,400 euros of gas per month”he says.
