SMITE 2: it’s D-day for the MOBA, Aladdin and Mulan invite themselves to the party

A year ago, to the day, Titan Forge Games revealed SMITE 2, a new MOBA with deities from different mythologies. The title spent several months in closed alpha, accessible only by purchasing a Founder’s Editionbut the developers are ready for launch.

Today, SMITE 2 is playable in free-to-play sur PC, PlayStation 5 et Xbox Series X|Sin a version still in Early Access. The developers are taking advantage of the event to add five new Deities in the casting, including Aladdina completely new characteras the studio reminds us:

Aladdin joins SMITE 2 as part of the Pantheon “Tales of Arabia”. Developed entirely on Unreal Engine 5, this new deity brings unique mechanics to the game. Aladdin is very agile and offers the possibility of running along walls and structures. His companion, the Genie, grants him three powerful wishes during the game, including a chance of resurrection in the event of death. Aladdin’s ultimate ability allows him to use his Lamp to trap his enemies in a one-on-one duel.

Four more deities join SMITE 2 in this free update: Gebthe Egyptian Deity of the Earth, Mulanthe Chinese Warrior, Agni of the Hindu Pantheon, and Ulr from the Nordic Pantheon, complete a long list of playable deities.

The patch also adds “Joust”, the 3v3 game mode fan favorite, which emphasizes fast-paced, small-scale combat, as well as an all-new map themed around Arthurian legends. Significant improvements have also been made to the Conquest mode map and features, as well as an alpha version of Assault mode. Additionally, a new optional upgrade called “Aspects” has been added to certain deities, providing entirely new ways to play by focusing on one or two specific aspects of their kit, rather than changing all of their abilities across the board.
