As powerful fires continue to ravage Los Angeles, Hilton has launched a fundraiser to help the victims. So far, more than $600,000 has been raised.

The star and businesswoman who herself lost her house in Malibu in the flames confided on Instagram that she wanted to help “all those who were affected by the devastating fires in Los Angeles” through her foundation 11: 11 MediaImpact.

“While I lost my Malibu home, my thoughts are with the countless families who have lost much more: their homes, their treasured memories, the communities they loved, and their sense of security,” she wrote on Instagram.

“As a mother, I cannot imagine the pain and fear of not having a safe place for your babies. So I am launching an emergency fundraiser to support evacuated families with young children,” continues Paris Hilton .

$2.5 million donation from Beyoncé

Paris Hilton also said on Instagram that she was working with an association to help animals whose homes were destroyed by the Los Angeles fires. She took in a dog at her home, whose owners lost their home.

“I am so grateful to be able to bring home Zuzu who her family sadly had to abandon after their home was destroyed in the fires,” she said in her post.

For a week, and despite the massive mobilization of firefighters, entire sections of the second largest city in the United States are devastated: more than 12,000 structures have been destroyed and more than 15,000 hectares have gone up in smoke. The balance sheet amounts to at least 24 deaths.

On January 13, singer Beyoncé announced, via her charitable foundation called BeyGOOD, to make a donation of 2.5 million dollars (approximately 2.4 million euros). The sum will be donated to the Los Angeles Fire Relief Fund, which helps families affected by the disaster.
