Last week, Patro and Stijnen were condemned by the Disciplinary Committee in the case of unsporting behavior against Charleroi. Stijnen and the club were fined 1,250 and 2,500 euros respectively.
The club and Stijn Stijnen, its coach, had been singled out by the federal prosecutor’s office based on the match delegate’s report. He noted that day that the conditions for the visitors from Charleroi were far from optimal, noting too little space for the Carolos to change, the temperature of the locker room was too hot and an additional locker room had been closed unnecessarily. The club had also temporarily locked the toilets.
Coach Stijn Stijnen reportedly explained to the match delegate that this was all a tactic the club was applying to destabilize the visitors.
