Honor has finally unveiled the international version of the Magic7 Pro. If the vast majority of its technical sheet does not change compared to the Chinese version, there are still some modifications. And above all the price is obviously not the same. A pricing positioning that can leave us perplexed by the proposals from Google, OnePlus or even Oppo. Explanations.
In November 2024, we had the opportunity to use the Magic7 Pro for 24 hours. And more precisely one of the Chinese versions of Honor’s new flagship. We tried it in one of its best versions, with 16 GB of RAM. This first handling was very encouraging. Honor then confirmed that the smartphone would arrive in Europe. But the brand then provided no indication of the date of its launch, its configuration and, above all, its price.

In the end, we only had to wait two months to get the answers to these questions. Indeed, Honor formalized this morning the arrival in France of the Magic7 Pro, the replacement for the Magic6 Pro that we particularly appreciated in 2024. It is marketed from today, Wednesday January 15. It comes in two colors (black and gray) and not four, unlike the Chinese versions. And it only comes in one configuration, with 12 Go to RAM et 512 Go de stockage. A configuration that surprisingly does not exist in China.
No price increase in France for the Honor Magic 7 Pro
Especially since the sale price is not very surprising. In fact, the smartphone is sold at 1299 eurosexcluding promotions and subsidies. Or the same price as its predecessor. This is quite good news, since many analysts predicted a rise in prices for high-end smartphones, particularly those equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Elite from Qualcomm. For what ? Because the price of components was going to increase according to their information.
And it’s all the more good news since the Magic 5 Pro and Magic 6 Pro have both undergone a increase of 100 euros compared to their predecessors. Of course, the true value of a smartphone cannot be measured in isolation. It must also be compared with direct competition. And we notice that all smartphones with the same processor and already in store are marketed cheaper with equivalent configuration. These are the ROG Phone 9 Pro, Realme GT 7 Pro and OnePlus 13. Other serious competitors, with another SoC, are also offered at the same price: Find X8 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL.
Of course, Xiaomi, Huawei, Samsung and Apple will position themselves above, as they are wont to do. The Magic7 Pro will therefore not be the most expensive non-folding smartphone on the market. It will simply be in the middlein an unattractive place where it is not sufficiently aggressive in terms of pricing for us to forgive it certain faults, while Honor has visibly made an effort not to subject users to inflation.
