Utah Hockey Club defenseman John Marino will play his first game of the season on Tuesday against the Montreal Canadiens (9 p.m. ET; TSN2, RDS, Utah16).
Marino injured his back during his team’s training camp in October.
The former Pittsburgh Penguins and New Jersey Devils had surgery on October 23. He has been a regular participant in Utah Hockey Club training for several days now.
Marino was traded from New Jersey to Utah on June 29, in a trade where the Devils received two second-round draft picks. In 139 games with his former team, he collected 43 points (eight goals, 35 assists). His last match of the season dates back to April 15.
