In December 2021, Brigitte Macron was first suspected of having been born under the name Jean-Michel Trogneux and of actually being a transgender woman. If the rumor had finally calmed down in France, it was without counting on Candace Owens, a 35-year-old political commentator and loyal supporter of Donald Trump. In March 2024, she took up the subject and supported the idea that Brigitte Macron was indeed a man. In August, the New Yorker relaunched the debate by sharing photos of the First Lady in a swimsuit during her private vacation with President Macron. “Brigitte Macron enjoying her summer with her friends. Spot what doesn’t belong to her,” she then shared on X (formerly Twitter) in a major implication. On January 10, 2025, Candace Owens reiterated by claiming to have additional information – through a French journalist – about this so-called transidentity.
“It is neither a joke nor an exaggeration to say that, short of political assassinations, this is probably the greatest political scandal in human history,” Candace Owens wrote a few years ago month. Scandalized at the idea that the wife of the President of the French Republic could be transgender, the Trumpist is doing everything possible to ensure that her theory is proven.
