John Klingberg has not said his last word. The offensive defenseman is reportedly preparing to return to play in the National Hockey League (NHL).

According to what Darren Dreger reported on Tuesday, the 32-year-old Swede, limited to 14 games with the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2023-2024, would attract the interest of five to seven teams on the Bettman circuit.

Klingberg underwent hip surgery in 2023 and has reportedly worked hard since to regain his glory days.

The lanky 6’2″, 185 lb. right-hander was once a feared offensive defenseman throughout the NHL. He notably amassed 67 points with the Stars in 2017-2018.

Still according to Dreger, the Maple Leafs, Edmonton Oilers and Ottawa Senators would be interested in his services.

Another Canadian team, the Vancouver Canucks, would have expressed interest, but an interest described as more mixed by the TSN informant.
