The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has just announced the postponement of the African Nations Championship (CHAN), initially scheduled for Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda in 2024, to August 2025. This announcement made on the eve of the draw to fate, fell like a cleaver.
In his statement, CAF President Dr Patrice Motsepe expressed his wish to see the facilities ready by August 2025: “The stadiums, training grounds, hotels, hospitals and other infrastructure must meet the standards required by CAF to guarantee the success of this African Nations Championship in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda,” we can read.
Despite this postponement, CAF has confirmed that the date of the draw will be maintained and will take place this Wednesday, January 15, 2025 in Nairobi.
