You have certainly already used it since its extension on June 24. To the delight of Ile-de-France travelers, the ligne 14 is now extended north to Saint-Denis – Pleyel, and south to Orly airport. Thus, users can connect this town of Seine-Saint-Denis to the famous Ile-de-France airport in just 40 minutes.
In total, 8 new stations appear on this approximately 30 kilometer long route. Line 14 is now the longest metro line in Île-de-France. The Saint-Denis – Pleyel station is the new northern terminus of the purple line. 6 other stations, located to the south of the route, also opened to travelers on June 24, namely Maison Blanche, Hôpital Bicêtre, L’Haÿ-les-Roses, Chevilly-Larue, Thiais-Orly and Orly Airport.

Line 14: opening of Villejuif Gustave-Roussy station on January 18, 2025
Initially announced for December 2024, the date of entry into service of the Villejuif Gustave-Roussy station has been postponed. In an article published on December 27, the Société des Grands Projets announced that this opening will take place on Saturday January 18, 2025. « At the heart of the future Campus Grand Parc district and a stone’s throw from the European center dedicated to the fight against cancer, the new Villejuif – Gustave Roussy station is preparing to open its doors on January 18, 2025, first to users of the line 14, before those of line 15 South, expected around summer 2026 » we can read. “ Until then, it plays a role as a service structure essential to the operation of the line. ” and therefore “ emergency station for the extension of line 14 » is stated on the Grand Paris Express website.
This station has a specificity, that of offering a connection with the future line 15 South of the Grand Paris Express. Work is therefore continuing at this station. This is why the opening took place a few months later.
But from this Saturday January 18, 2025the Villejuif – Gustave Roussy station will welcome its first travelers on line 14. It will then be possible to reach Châtelet in just 18 minutes from Villejuif. Then, from the summer of 2026, line 15 South will be put into service and connection will then be ensured with line 14.
As a reminder, the Villejuif – Gustave Roussy station reveals nine levels, with docks located almost 50 meters deep. As for its architecture, designed by Dominique Perrault, it displays an impressive transparent glass roof.
