Busy morning for firefighters

Firefighters from the Victoriaville Fire Safety Service (SSI) were called upon on Tuesday, responding to three calls, starting with a fire call in a business on Pierre-Roux Boulevard East.

Shortly before 9 a.m., the SSI was called to go to Camital metal coating. “A transformer overheated in the electrical room, producing a little smoke and an odor,” said operations captain Martin Boissonneault.

The engineers carried out their checks. An electrician was called to the scene to take control of the situation.

It is unknown what may have caused the overheating. However, we know that for the first time, two vehicles were connected to an electrical terminal.

Furthermore, the Victoriaville firefighters had to go to Ville Le Reflet on Boulevard Labbé at 9:55 a.m. due to the fire alarm being triggered.

An alarm caused by the overheating of a dehumidifier, said Captain Boissonneault.

Shortly after, SSI received a call from first responders.
