A serious incident. In July 2024, in Australia, an eight-year-old girl was the victim of an accident who seriously injured her. As relayed by the Australian media, Nine Newsthe little girl, named Daniella, was celebrating her birthday when her sweater accidentally caught fire.

His grandmother had just given it to him, after ordering it on the merchandise sales site, Temu. The sweater was made of a synthetic material. In a few seconds, the garment in question melted on this little girl’s skin, after igniting. Result: she was third degree burns to the face, chest, arm and hand. “The product actually melted like plastic”explained Daniella’s mother to the local media. Quickly, she placed her daughter in the shower before help arrived. In total, 13% of Daniella’s body was burned.

Since July 2024, the little girl was operated on fourteen timesparticularly to receive skin grafts. These surgeries cost Daniella’s family a lot of money. A participatory prize pool has been opened online, on the Gofundme website. The parents are asking people who wish to help them, in order to finance the reconstruction of their daughter. Before it can be delivered, Daniella still has ten years of operations leftaccording to health professionals.
