Australian Open > Nishesh Basavareddy, after his defeat against Novak Djokovic in the first round: “The biggest difference between him and the other other players is, I would say, the precision of his serve and his very high level on the return”

Despite his defeat in the first round of the Australian Open against Novak Djokovic, Nishesh Basavareddy (19 years old, 107e world) had reason to be satisfied.

Although he ended up losing in four sets, the young American surprised everyone by winning the first round and even competing with the Serb in the game for a good hour.

Proud of himself, he revealed, during his appearance at a press conference, what made Djokovic a player different from the others.

“The biggest difference between him and the others is, I would say, his precision on the serve and his very high level on the return. I noticed that as soon as I served, I already had the ball on me. He makes you play an extra ball every time. By winning the first set, I proved to myself that I had the level to advance in my career, even if I still have to improve a lot of things. »
