MONTRÉAL – CF Montreal announced Monday the acquisition of striker Prince Owusu. The German, who turned 28 last Tuesday, signed a two-year contract in 2025 and 2026, plus an option year in 2027, using Targeted Allocation Money (TAM).
The Club traded to Toronto FC $100,000 in General Allocation Money (GAM) in 2025, $75,000 in GAM in 2026 and $75,000 in Conditional GAM in order to obtain the right of first refusal.

Owusu played the last two seasons with Toronto FC. In 2024, he has scored nine goals in 31 games, including 20 starts, and 1,844 minutes of play in MLS. He also recorded three goals and two assists in five matches of the 2024 Canadian Championship, as well as two assists in three matches of the 2024 Leagues Cup.
Born in Wertheim, Germany, Owusu is a product of the academy of VfB Stuttgart, the club with which he began his professional career with the reserve team in 2015. He joined the reserve team of TSG Hoffenheim in 2017 where he scored 17 goals in two seasons.
In 2018, Owusu continued his path in Bundesliga 2 with Arminia Bielefeld before being loaned to German third division club TSV 1860 Munich, where he scored eight goals and collected six assists in all competitions. He notably contributed to the club’s victory in the Bavarian Cup in 2020.
After spells at SC Paderborn in 2020 and 2021, then at FC Erzgebirge Aue in 2022, the striker joined SSV Jahn Regensburg where he scored nine goals during the 2022-23 Bundesliga 2 season.
-On the international stage, Owusu has represented Germany at U15, U18 and U19 levels.
