Former FDP chairman and former state councilor Rolf Schweiger has died at the age of 80. “We will miss you,” writes the FDP.
Rolf Schweiger, former president of the FDP Switzerland, has died. “It is with deep sadness that we say goodbye to you,” writes the FDP of the canton of Zug in an Instagram post.
The former state councilor and former cantonal councilor of Zug has died at the age of 80. His party pays tribute to him today: “Rolf Schweiger was an outstanding lawyer and a passionate fighter for liberal values and Switzerland.”
His “incomparable presence” and his commitment have left a mark that “goes well beyond his work”.

Schweiger served in the FDP State Council from March 1999 to December 2011. In 2004 he also served as chairman for seven months.
