« We are finishing the mandate peacefully, we are not going to embark on major projects. We will simply put together the grant files to renovate school toilets », replies the mayor. And to confirm not to run again in the next municipal elections: “ I’m already 72 years old, that will make me finish at 80… It’s too much wishful thinking ».
What about the new successor? “ Today, people are less keen to take over a town hall. » It is rumored that an elected official from the municipal council has offered his services. Denis Malaval warns: “ Being the head of a small town takes a lot of time. The mayor does everything… I would have liked it to be a retiree who took over ».
