Were you afraid that this match would escape you, two sets to one in favor of Baez?
Fear, I don’t know, but seeing myself lose, yes, I felt it a little. Frankly, I didn’t play great tennis. I had a guy opposite who fought on every point. He may not be the brightest player, but you have to deal with him. He runs everywhere, he plays one more shot. I sucked a lot today, it was very hard. I knew, despite the difficulty, to go with the heart and with another word that begins with “c” but I’m not going to say it, otherwise my mother will kill me (smile). I was with the two “c”s and that’s what allowed me to win today. I’m happy to get out of it. These are great victories when you are in difficulty like that and you still get through it. I savor it.
