Gilles Gascon, mayor of Saint-Priest: “We are in battle order before the next metropolitan elections”
Mayor of Saint-Priest since 2014, Gilles Gascon is particularly involved in transport and mobility issues. Defender of Lyon-Turin, critical of the low-emission zone, he is also in favor of a travel and metro plan on the scale of the Lyon metropolis.
“From tomorrow, we will be at work in the interest of the Lyonnais and Greater Lyonnais in order to prepare the alternation in the EELV-LFI executive, with a major project, the only one capable of allowing us victory, in a state of a unifying and mobilizing spirit, as we have been able to demonstrate on numerous subjects and collective struggles in recent months”declares Gilles Gascon in a press release.
This election therefore announces the first maneuvers of the group with a view to 2026 metropolitan elections. “We are now in battle order for the 15 months we have left before the next metropolitan elections. Faced with the desolation caused by the EELV team in power, it is high time to propose an alternative project to the residents and professionals of our metropolis.” The official right-wing candidate for the election has, however, not yet been revealed.
