If RC Lens returned to victory in Le Havre, it owes a lot to the very lively Deiver Machadodecisive scorer at the end of the game. From 3 to 7, discover our notes after this meeting of the 17th day of Ligue 1.
Man of the match:
Author of the victorious goal, heading in an excellent cross from Przemyslaw Frankowski, Deiver Machado (7) was rewarded for all his efforts. If he has a little less freedom than when he plays piston, the Colombian was still able to move forward regularly with his usual tone. With 11 duels won (14 contested) and 2 key passes, he single-handedly animated the left lane. A quarter of an hour before his goal, he could have been a decisive passer with a perfect back cross for Florian Sotoca.
The satisfactions
Lost at the start of the match, leaving real boulevards behind him which could well have allowed Le Havre to make the break, Przemyslaw Frankowski (6) gained momentum throughout the match. After closing a few gaps in his own penalty area (20′), the Pole above all brought the excess offensively. And if M’Bala Nzola is flagged offside after shaking the net, Przemyslaw Frankowski will indeed be the decisive passer thanks to his offering for Deiver Machado.
That’s what we call a great debut! Just a few days after his arrival, Goduine Koyalipou (6) already gives the impression of being an RC Lens player for a while. Anything but intimidated, the former Niort striker showed very good things for his first. Beyond his goal, where his standout is to be shown in all football schools, he could also have been a decisive passer for Florian Sotoca (54′). And if he did not touch many balls (24), his movements and his catches confirm the good impression left on certain observers.
The disappointments
He also got off to a good start, also with a goal for his very first match, Anas Zaroury (3) has continued to disappoint for several weeks. Is it his positioning in the left lane that hardly suits him? What is certain is that the former Burnley player is not in the right tempo. And while he is lined up to provoke and try to create differences one on one, the native of Mechelen has not even attempted the slightest dribble! Which did not prevent him from having an incredible waste with 17 lost balls out of 50 contested and barely 71% of successful passes. Replaced by Hamzat Ojediranwhich had the merit of bringing density to the heart of the game.
Faulty on the opening score, with a slightly sluggish throw-in, Adrien Thomasson (4) immediately gave the pulse of his match. Far from his usual activity, he seemed to suffer from the intensity put in by his partners. And when he found himself a little higher up the pitch, especially after the early exit of Anass Zaroury, he often lacked speed of execution. He does not put enough force into his shot which is pushed back on the line by Gautier Lloris (47′). Replaced by Jonathan Gradetwho was able to stand out with a classy defensive gesture (84′).
