At least that’s what the director of National Affairs at the Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB), Christina Santini, says.
“It wouldn’t help the volume problems,” she emphasized during an interview with LCN on Sunday.
As of January 13, the price of an individual stamp will be $1.44 and stamps purchased in booklets or rolls will cost $1.24.
This is the second price increase in less than a year. An increase of seven cents also occurred last May.
“We should not be surprised if SMEs change their habits,” said Ms. Santini on the show Quebec morning.
Once the government forced Canada Post employees to return to work, a survey was carried out by the CFIB among its members.
Some 73% of entrepreneurs surveyed say they will use the government agency less.
“There are clearly things that need to be rethought” at Canada Post, explains Christina Santini.
