Throughout , the tradition of burning Christmas trees after the holidays is tenacious. In Côte-d’Or, according to the numerous announcements of fir tree festivals and bonfires, the custom seems well rooted.

However, some municipalities are now choosing to cancel or not authorize these types of events. Jean-Michel Staiger (without label), mayor of Savigny-le-Sec, is one of those who decided not to support this concept.

“For us, it’s the rural household that organizes this,” he begins.
