Preventing flood risks was the theme of the meeting.
To deal with possible weather events and climate change, prevention and adaptation seem to be the ways to follow and put in place today. Among all these events, one of the major risks for the department is that of flooding.
In fact, three quarters of the municipalities in the P.-O. are subject to the risk of flooding and Le Soler is one of them. The Flood Risk Prevention Plan (PPRi) is therefore an essential tool and it is currently being put in place.
-On Tuesday, a meeting to present this plan took place in the village hall, organized by the Departmental Directorate of Territories and the Sea (DDTM 66) and the municipality. Mandated by the DDTM, the company Cereg Engineering carried out the study of flood zones and the various documents necessary to establish the PPRi for the municipality. During this meeting, she presented the very detailed and mapped results of her work in the field for 3 years. Several zones corresponding to more or less strong risks of flooding ranging from red to green appear and it appears that the majority of the territory is in red apart from the urban center, which will make it impossible to build in these zones. Mitigation measures, action to reduce or minimize the harmful effects or negative consequences of a risk, will be imposed or recommended depending on the case, for urbanized areas outside urban centers such as Le Pilou.
These measures, creation of a refuge zone, securing the various networks, non-return valves on the pipes, securing the tanks, will ensure the safety of the people affected, reduce the vulnerability of property and facilitate the return to normal after the passage of the flood. These measures will be partly financed by the Barnier plan. This PPRi will be subject to public inquiry this year and applied after approval from the prefecture.
