For the Arrestadou inn, in Bouchet-Saint-Nicolas, member of the Bienvenue à la ferme network, January and February are rather calm months, generally reserved, for Émilie and Pierre Villesèche, for small catering at the establishment, while waiting for the return of visitors, many of them walkers. Stevenson Road is just a stone’s throw from here. The owners also offer so-called “unusual” accommodation. The colorful trailers installed behind the inn offer a western setting. Pierre Villesèche is currently dedicating himself more to his herd of 25 Limousin cows. Émilie, his partner, can invest in her professional and union missions. It appears in 13th place on the list presented this winter by the JA and the FDSEA.
The election campaign for the Chamber of Agriculture officially began this week. In reality, the members of the list began their long march at the end of last year which led them to visit operators throughout the department, across 30 “cantons”. Haute-Loire is thus divided into sectors. Nothing to do with administrative division. JA and FDSEA meet their members during these meetings, but not only that. These meetings are open to all, as in Loudes where participants do not join unions. For a couple of hours, everyone “raises” their concerns. Talk is free over coffee and a slice of galette des rois.
