It was this year that Google lifted the veil on the heir to its Pixel Watch 2, soberly called Pixel Watch 3. A connected watch that we really appreciated, but today, it is rather the Pixel Watch 2 which interests us. Indeed, this old tocante remains a sufficiently fluid and precise reference for us to still recommend it without worry, and during these winter sales, it has the clear advantage of seeing its price reduced by 45%.

The Google Pixel Watch 2 greatly resembles the first Google Pixel Watch, and even the third, since for its three connected watches, the Mountain View firm has focused on the same rounded and slightly domed dial. But unlike the Google Pixel Watch 3, which is available in two models (41 mm and a 45 mm XL), only a Pixel Watch 2 with a 41 mm case is offered. The latter is also slightly lighter than the manufacturer’s first watch, thanks to the use of recycled aluminum instead of steel.
On the screen side, the Pixel Watch 2 integrates a 1.4-inch Oled Always-On panel with a definition of 450 x 450 pixels and covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 3D which effectively protects against scratches. The brightness of 1,000 cd/m offered by this screen is also excellent, but we would have liked thinner borders. In terms of endurance, the Pixel Watch 2 doesn’t really shine with its 24 hours of battery life with Always-On activated.
Very effective health functions
The Pixel Watch 2 is powered by WearOS, which offers a complete and very easy to use interface. We especially appreciate the many applications present on the Play Store (control of connected objects, sport, etc.). WearOS is here coupled with the Fitbit ecosystem, which gives a very versatile result, even if we would have liked a dedicated Google application. However, keep in mind that the Watch app is not available on iOS, which prevents iPhone users from wearing the Pixel Watch 2.
-Otherwise, the watch scores points with its precise sensors. It is notably capable of measuring the oxygen saturation in the blood (SpO2) and the skin temperature of its user. Very special mention also for the complete electrocardiogram, obtained by keeping your finger on the crown for 30 seconds, as well as for the continuous reading of the heart rate throughout the day. The results provided are simply impressive. The watch can also track stress levels, but not track the menstrual cycle, unfortunately. Fall detection is also available and it is very reassuring. On the sports side, you can benefit from GPS tracking that is generally reliable, but which can still be more efficient, as well as automatic training mode, which automatically starts and stops your sports activities.
