The gastronomic journalist Jean-Luc Petitrenaud, who hosted the shows Gourmet postcard et The Escapades of Petitrenauddied at the age of 74, his children announced to AFP.
Jean-Luc Petitrenaud died “surrounded by his loved ones”, declared his children Louise and Antonin Petitrenaud, who “thank the people who loved him so much during these years”.
Having become a gastronomic critic in the 1990s for Radio France and Radio Suisse Romande, this native of Clermont-Ferrand enchanted viewers on Sunday lunchtimes on France 5 with his show Gourmet postcardfrom 2000 to 2006. Talkative, curious and gourmand, Jean-Luc Petitrenaud visited chef’s kitchens throughout France, but also cellars, market gardeners, wine growers, cheese makers, butchers…
Meeting the producers
Succeeding the Postcards, The Escapades of Petitrenaudalways on Sundays on France 5, allowed the gastronomic journalist to continue to travel across France to meet producers.
Jean-Luc Petitrenaud left the channel in 2017, citing fatigue. Taken over by Carinne Teyssanier, the show finally ended in 2018.
The journalist has also published numerous works on gastronomy, such as The France of snacks in 1993, several editions of My good fork shots and in 2018, The four seasons of Emile and Marcelleinspired by the life of his parents, who died shortly before.
