Since Tuesday, around 2,000 houses or buildings have been destroyed and more than 100,000 residents of the megacity have been called to evacuate, particularly in Hollywood, the historic film studio district. The fires have killed at least five people. With the destruction of these villas, the fire could be the costliest ever recorded: damage was estimated at $57 billion (55 billion euros) by AccuWeather.
