Americans were hoping for key measures, such as lower consumer prices or a better health care system. However, it is a completely different program that the new president-elect, Donald Trump, has unveiled. During a press conference held this Tuesday, January 7, 2025, on the sidelines of the national funeral of Jimmy Carter, the leader of the United States revealed the first actions of his mandate at the White House. Donald Trump thus wishes to “merge” his country with Canada, take control of Greenland and the Panama Canal, but also… rename the Gulf of Mexico.
“We’re going to change the name of the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America, which sounds wonderful. That covers a lot of territory. The Gulf of America. What a beautiful name! And it is appropriate,” said the new president, who will officially take office on January 20. Probably his way of making America great again, as his famous campaign slogan “Make America great again” dictates. A statement which of course did not convince the Democratic clan, but not only that. On social networks, American and foreign Internet users are having a blast.
