It is almost becoming a tradition, the sub-prefecture begins the year to the rhythm of Viennese waltzes. This year again, the Alenya Roussillon symphony orchestra (OSAR) takes up residence in the superb Prades sports hall. Nearly fifty musicians will once again delight the audience under the direction of Bernard Salles. What better way to start the year 2025 in beauty and music than this now traditional New Year's concert. Violins, double basses, flutes and other trumpets will lead aficionados on the trail of the Stauss family, but also in a repertoire of music festive Sunday January 12 (at 5 p.m.).
On the program, J.Offenbach (Ouverture de la vie Parisienne), W. A. Mozart (Andante from the clarinet concerto), L. Délibes (extracts from Sylvia, les Chasseresses and Valse Slow), A. Ketelbey (On a Persian Market), J. . Strauss (Southern Roses), E. Elgar (Salut d'amour), C. Gounod (Faust Waltz), A.Trovajoli (Women's perfume), D.Shostakovich (Jazz Waltz No. 2), P. Lincke (Berliner luft). Is music a sport? Nothing is less certain, but the musical team is in any case ready to ignite the Pradan sports venue.
