OnePlus makes a fuss
We are not particularly disoriented when discovering the look of the OnePlus 13. The brand uses its famous circular camera unit on the back, marked with the Hasselblad seal, which still takes care of configuring the smartphone’s different cameras. We are nevertheless moving to flat edges, more in tune with the times. Like the Find
Equipped with a 6.82-inch AMOLED screen, the phone is large, but loses a few grams compared to its predecessor (213 grams compared to 220 grams). OnePlus promises a frequency of 120 Hz, QHD+ definition and a peak brightness of 4,500 nits. Enough to guarantee very good lighting outdoors, therefore.
In terms of performance, OnePlus is banking on the latest from Qualcomm: the Snapdragon 8 Elite. Performance should therefore never be a problem, especially since the smartphone comes with a choice of 12 to 16 GB of RAM and 256 or 512 GB of storage. On the OnePlus 13R, we will stay with an older generation Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, which however has nothing to be ashamed of in terms of speed. Both smartphones also support WiFi 7. Autonomy will be ensured by a large 6,000 mAh battery, rechargeable at 80 W on the 13 and 13R. However, only the first will be compatible with wireless charging, up to 50 W.
Finally, for photography, the OnePlus 13 relies on a trio of 50 megapixel sensors, whose x3 optical zoom arouses our curiosity for its large size, promising excellent sharpness. The OnePlus 13R lowers its ambitions a little with smaller sensors and an ultra wide-angle which sees its resolution go from 50 Mpx to only 8 Mpx.
Android 15, AI and rising prices
Both smartphones come with Android 15, topped with OxygenOS, the in-house overlay. Artificial intelligence naturally invites itself to the party with different functionalities, such as summarizing audio recordings, an editorial assistant or various tools for photo editing. Please note: like the Oppo Find X8 Pro, it seems that these features are not yet available in French.
The manufacturer also promises four major Android updates and an additional year for security patches. It’s not much… especially when we finally look at the price asked by OnePlus.
The OnePlus 13 is marketed from €1,029 for the 12/256 GB version. Count €1,179 for the 16/512 GB model. A price increase of around €80 compared to its predecessor, which therefore makes it pass the symbolic barrier of a thousand euros.
For the OnePlus 13R, the bill amounts to €769. A further increase of around €70 compared to the 12R. It will be available on January 14.
