If injuries are commonplace in the NHL and we see a few players fall in action every week, yesterday was a very dark evening when we were treated to real carnage.
No less than twelve players were injured.
You read that right.
Here for you is the complete list of all the players who fell in battle.
First of all, the management of the Pittsburgh Penguins announced that the star forward Evgeni Malkin could not take part in the game against the Columbus Blue Jackets due to an upper body injury.
During this match, the attacker Sean Monahan of the Blue Jackets had to leave the game at the start of the third period, suffering from an upper body injury.
During the game between the Boston Bruins and the Oilers in Edmonton, defenseman Nikita Zadorov collided violently with the goalkeeper Stuart Skinner who had to leave the meeting. Fortunately for the Oilers, he subsequently returned. Let’s see over the next few days if he will be able to be in uniform for the next game.
The attacker Filip Chytil of the New York Rangers had to leave the game against the Dallas Stars due to an upper body injury.
The guardian Alex Lyon of the Detroit Red Wings had to leave the game against the Ottawa Senators due to an upper body injury.
In Philadelphia the attackers Scott Laughton et Matvei Michkov of the Flyers both had to leave the game against the Toronto Maple Leafs after colliding together in their own zone.
The young star defender Brock Faber of the Minnesota Wild retired to the locker room early in the game due to an upper body injury and never returned to the game against the St. Louis Blues.
There were several injuries in the game between the Nashville Predators and the Jets in Winnipeg. First, the attackers Steven Stamkos (Undetermined) et Luke Evangelista (Lower body) of the Preds both had to leave the game while the star defenseman Josh Morrissey (Lower body) of the Jets was also unable to complete the game after colliding with the net.
Finally, the young attacker Connor Zary of the Calgary Flames needed help from his teammates to retreat to the locker room after being violently hit with the knee by the defender Drew Helleson of the Ducks who received a major penalty and was immediately kicked out of the game for his dangerous gesture.
If you are a pooler and have been spared this real bloodbath in the NHL, count yourself lucky!
