A 34-year-old woman was found dead in her home on the night of Tuesday January 7 in Brétigny-sur-Orge. His companion was arrested.
A 34-year-old woman, mother of two children, was discovered dead in her apartment in Brétigny-sur-Orge (Essonne) on the night of Tuesday January 7 to Wednesday January 8, BFMTV learned from the Évry prosecutor’s office.
The victim’s body was found in the bathroom. Two children aged 7 and 4 were also in the home. The companion who attacked the police officers and made incoherent comments was arrested.
This 29-year-old man was taken into police custody. He is unfavorably known to the courts with three convictions between 2014 and 2016 for violence by his ascendant and driving without a license. The last conviction dates back to 2017 for violence in a meeting perpetrated three years earlier.
The public prosecutor’s office contacted the territorial action division of the Essonne national police to continue the investigations. An autopsy of the victim must be carried out this Wednesday morning.
Neighbors raised the alarm
Neighbors alerted the police around 11:30 p.m. after hearing screams coming from this accommodation located in a condominium. The first police officers to intervene heard the cries of a woman calling for help, but were unable to enter the enclosed apartment through an armored door.
They then requested reinforcements and attempted to speak with a man who was also inside the home. The prosecution indicates that this man, the victim’s companion, ended up opening the door and threw himself at the police with two knives. The police subdued the attacker by using an electric shock gun.
