War in Ukraine: After shooting down two Mi-8s, Ukrainian Magura V5 naval drones launch their own drones from the Black Sea for the first time, destroying Russian air defense systems

Cheaper and more precise than most artillery systems, drones have quickly become one of Ukraine’s main tools for repelling Russian assaults amid a chronic shortage of artillery ammunition.

For the first timeUkrainian first-person view (FPV) drones using a naval drone as a springboard destroyed three Russian air defense systems, the Ukrainian Center for Strategic Communication and Information Security said on Tuesday (January 7).

“Only a week after Ukrainian naval drones made history by successfully shooting down Russian helicopters, another historic first should be noted: our national naval drones are now launching their own drones FPV, destroying Russian air defense units”the government agency said on social media.
