This Monday, January 6, the Minnesota Timberwolves (18v-17d) won a victory at home against the Los Angeles Clippers (20v-16d), with a score of 108 to 106. Led by 19 points in the second quarter, the Wolves were able to count on an impressive Anthony Edwards in the second half to turn the situation around in a breathtaking finale.
“Antman” stood out with 37 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. He was notably involved in 15 consecutive points late in the match, playing a decisive role in the victory. Donte DiVincenzo also contributed significantly with 15 units, while Naz Reid (18 points and 7 rebounds coming off the bench) and Rudy Gobert (8 points and 18 rebounds) dominated in the paint. This victory allows the Wolves to end a series of three defeats and remain undefeated against the Clippers this season (3v-0d).
On the Clippers side, the pivot Ivica Zubac was the best player with 17 points, 15 rebounds and 6 blocks. He dominated the racket and received support from Norman Powellthe team’s top scorer with 25 points but unable to grab the ball on the offensive rebound to snatch overtime. James Harden also performed well with 22 points and 8 assists. On the other hand, Kawhi Leonard, struggling for his second game of the season in the NBA, only scored 8 points, contributing to the Clippers’ third defeat in their last four games.
Anthony Edwards and the Wolves will face the New Orleans Pelicans away this Tuesday, January 7, while the Clippers will challenge the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday.
