10 years ago today, an attack hit the editorial staff of Charlie Hebdo.

The first in a series of attacks causing the death of municipal police officer Clarissa Jean-Philippe and four people in the attack on a Hyper Cacher.

Ten years later, the wound is still raw. On January 7, 2015, the editorial staff of the satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo was targeted by the Chérif brothers and Saïd Kouachi. Twelve people, including eight members of the editorial staff, lost their lives that day. For their part, the attackers, who had pledged allegiance to Al-Qaeda, were killed two days later by the police. On January 9, Amedy Coulibaly murdered an employee and three customers at the Hyper Cacher Porte de , in eastern . The day before, he had shot dead a municipal police officer in (Hauts-de-Seine).

It is to all of these victims that pays tribute this Tuesday. The ceremonies will begin at 11:30 a.m., rue Nicolas-Appert, in the 11th arrondissement, where Charlie Hebdo had its premises in 2015. They will continue on Boulevard Richard Lenoir, where police officer Ahmed Merabet was shot dead by the Kouachi brothers as they fled. They will end at 1:10 p.m. with a tribute to the victims of the Hyper Cacher store. These commemorations, which will be attended by Emmanuel Macron and several ministers, will be “like every year” marked “through sobriety, in accordance with the wishes of the families”indicated the Paris town hall.

Note that the city of Montrouge will organize a tribute ceremony to municipal police officer Clarissa Jean-Philippe, killed on January 8, on Wednesday.
