NVIDIA’s press conference for CES 2025 took place last night around 3:30 a.m. and as we expected, the greens announced the arrival of four new graphics cards: the RTX 5090 at 1999 prices $ (2369€), the RTX 5080 at $999 (1190€), the RTX 5070 Ti at $749 (€884) and finally the RTX 5070 which starts at $549 (€649). The two high-end models will be available on January 30, while the other two will arrive during the month of February. This new “RTX 5000” series brings its share of new hardware features with a PCIe 5.0 interface, support for GDDR7 memory as well as DisplayPort 2.1a.
The NVIDIA RTX 5090, benefiting from a GB202 chip, confirms to be a power monster with its 21760 CUDA cores and its 512-bit memory bus. It will have 32 GB of GDDR7 memory and a TDP of 575 watts.
It will be available in a Founders Edition version, but as you can see, the design completely changes compared to the previous generation. Despite the RTX 5090’s TDP of 575 watts, the cooling system makes do with two fans. The design of the new vapor chamber and the design of the PCB keep the board “fairly compact”. All four announced models will have a single 16-pin power connector.

The NVIDIA RTX 5080 benefits from the GB203 chip and 10752 CUDA cores, or 11008 cores fewer than the RTX 5090, which leads us to say that there may still be a clear difference in performance between these two models. It is equipped with a 256-bit memory bus, 16 GB of GDDR7 memory and a TDP of 360 watts.
The other two cards will not arrive until February, with the NVIDIA RTX 5070 Ti and its 8960 CUDA cores and 16 GB of GDDR7. We should not have a Founders Edition version on this model. Finally, the NVIDIA RTX 5070 will have 12 GB of GDDR7 memory and 6144 CUDA cores. NVIDIA announced during the conference that it would be twice as fast as the RTX 4070!
All of these cards will be compatible with DLSS4, which we will return to in a future brief.
