The Swiss giant recorded sales growth last year. He was therefore able to reduce the price of more than 2,400 products.

Coop increased its turnover slightly last year. Online sales saw the strongest growth.

The Swiss retail giant achieved total turnover in 2024 up 0.6% to 34.9 billion francs, it said in a press release on Monday. Adjusted for currency effects, this corresponds to an increase of 1.1% compared to the previous year.

In retail, sales of supermarkets, including the coop.ch site, increased by 2% to 20.8 billion francs and increased their market share. Excluding fuel, net sales increased by 0.5%.

Lower prices

Both the Prix Garantie own brand and sustainable products have seen increasing demand. Coop was able to reduce the prices of more than 2,400 products last year and has therefore invested around 600 million in lowering prices since 2019.

In wholesale and production, sales increased by 2.9% to 16.9 billion, excluding currency effects. Net sales of sustainable products increased by 2.1% to 6.4 billion.

The online supermarket Coop.ch, which has more than 21,000 products, increased its net turnover by 8.7%. In wholesale, net online sales increased by 7.3%. In total, Coop’s online activities generated net revenues of 5.5 billion. (jzs/ats)
