Tensions continue to hang over Chelsea. Traveling to Selhurst Park on Saturday, to face Crystal Palace on the 20th day of the Premier League, the Blues once again let away valuable points by conceding a draw (1-1).
This result marks their fourth consecutive match without a victory. Nicolas Jackson, the Senegalese center forward, failed to shine, attracting criticism from some of the supporters. Feeling the pressure mounting, Blues coach Enzo Maresca was quick to defend his player.

Author of 9 goals and 3 assists a few weeks ago, Nicolas Jackson seems to be going through a complicated period, like his entire club. Chelsea’s last victory dates back to December 15, in a 2-1 success against Brentford, where the Senegalese striker scored his last goal. Since then, he has not found the net in four games, and his performance against Crystal Palace failed to reverse the trend.
Despite everything, Jackson benefits from Maresca’s unwavering support. “For an attacker, it happens that he creates chances and doesn’t score. The important thing is that Nico had two or three clear chances today. This means that he is there, present. He’s ready, and I hope next time he’ll have a little better luck. Overall, I think Jackson had a good match,” assured the Italian technician.
