A 20-year-old young man died on the A6 in Côte-d’Or, in an accident probably due to the weather marked by freezing rain. He was driving one of three vehicles caught in a pileup. Four other people were slightly injured, including a child, according to firefighters.

28 DEPARTMENTS MAINTAINED IN ORANGE
The two departments of Eure-et-Loir and Orne are downgraded to yellow vigilance. However, the risk of black ice remains present until 10 p.m., warns Météo-France.
“A disturbance associated with a mild air mass will sweep across the entire country, in a southwest/northeast direction, this evening and tonight. This disturbance will encounter a cold air mass over the north of the country, causing snowfall and especially freezing rain for a few hours, until the mild air definitively takes over”, details the Meteorological Institute.
THE 30 DEPARTMENTS IN ORANGE
Here are the departments affected by the orange snow-ice alert: Aisne, Ardennes, Marne, Haute-Marne, Meurthe-et-Moselle, Meuse, Moselle, Nord, Oise, Pas -de-Calais, Bas-Rhin, Haut-Rhin, Seine-Maritime, Somme, Vosges, Territoire de Belfort, Orne, Eure-et-Loir, Eure, Côte-d’Or, Aube, Haute-Saône and the eight Ile-de-France departments (Paris, Hauts-de-Seine, Seine-Saint-Denis, Val-de -Marne, Seine-et-Marne, Yvelines, Essonne, Val-d’Oise).

After a weekend marked by the passage of a disturbance, the weather conditions will remain degraded. This back-to-school week promises to be hectic, between sustained precipitation and strong winds. After a fairly clear warm spell, yet another cooling is expected over the days ⤵️
HEAVY GOODS REQUESTED TO STOP
In Côte-d’Or, in the Doubs, the Jura and the Territoire de Belfort, heavy goods vehicles weighing more than 7.5 tonnes will no longer be able to drive from 7 p.m. due to snow and ice vigilance. This ban will be extended from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. to Marne, Haute-Marne, Haut-Rhin, Haute-Saône and Vosges.
RESTRICTIONS IN DAWN
Measures are being taken concerning heavy goods vehicles in the Aube department, placed on orange alert. From 6 p.m., they will be prohibited from overtaking and will have to reduce their speed by 20 km/h on the entire road network then, from 7 p.m., their circulation will be prohibited on national roads and motorways.
ÎLE-DE-FRANCE: THE SNOW-ICE PLAN TRIGGERED AT LEVEL 2
The police headquarters announces “the activation of the Snow and Ice Plan in Île-de-France at level 2”. The speed limit is lowered by 20 km/h on many roads in the region, with the exception of the Paris ring road. The measure takes effect from 5 p.m. this Saturday, and until midnight.

Thirty departments in the north-east of France remain on orange alert for snow and ice this Saturday, Météo-France announces in its latest bulletin. Vigilance is maintained for 15 of them for the day of Sunday.

ACCIDENT IN CORRÈZE
In Corrèze, a department not yet classified as vigilant, an accident involving a heavy goods vehicle and three cars occurred this morning on the A89, according to Vinci Autoroutes. The accident, which left one person lightly injured, could have been caused by the freezing rain that fell in the area, according to the Égletons gendarmes. The highway was then cut for more than two hours in the Bordeaux-Clermont direction, causing traffic jams, Vinci Autoroutes said.
