Zachery Ty Bryan, known for his role as eldest son, Brad Taylor, in the 90s sitcom Home Improvementwas arrested and charged with second-degree domestic violence. This is Bryan’s third arrest in 18 months following two previous drunk driving charges last year. This is also his third arrest for domestic violence.
According to The Hollywood ReporterBryan was apprehended by Police in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Wednesday shortly before 7 p.m. He was booked into the Horry County Jail on Thursday and was released Friday after posting $10,000 bail. Police sources said TMZ that the woman with whom Bryan shares a child accused the actor of repeatedly hitting her, strangling her and threatening to kill her.
Bryan, who also appeared in Véronique Mars et Fast and Furious: Tokyo Driftexperienced numerous legal troubles. A 2023 profile in The Hollywood Reporter followed his acting career, which included addiction issues, making his fortune through bitcoin, and allegations of domestic violence and fraud. In 2020, he pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor domestic violence charges and was sentenced to 36 months of probation. In 2023, he pleaded guilty again, this time to fourth-degree felonious assault and was sentenced to 36 months of supervised probation, seven days in jail and a set of conditions including no contact with the victim and treatment for drug and alcohol addiction.
