Week 18 NFL program: The final sprint is on!

NFL – NFL Week 18 will be held throughout this weekend with the last places for the NFL playoffs at stake.

Sunday evening in the United States, and Monday morning in , NFL week 18 will have delivered its verdict and with it the NFL regular season in its entirety. The day after this NFL Week 18, the 14 teams selected for the playoffs which will begin next week will be known. Also at the end of this new week of competition, the identity of the team which will take the first choice in the next NFL draft will be revealed. In short, it’s time for the final sprint, suspense and spectacle!

Saturday: It’s AFC North time

The scheduling of NFL week 18 always occurs after the results of week 17 are known in order to guarantee suspenseful matches in strategic time slots. For this last week of competition, the NFL has therefore decided to offer us the final of the AFC North division as an aperitif for this NFL week 18.

This Saturday evening, we will know whether the Baltimore Ravens or the Pittsburgh Steelers will be crowned AFC North division champions. For the Baltimore Ravens, one victory will be enough in this NFL Week 18 opener to claim another division title. To do this, it will be necessary to beat the Cleveland Browns who already seem to have definitively given up on this 2024 NFL season, who have nothing left to play and who will launch their number 4 quarterback, Bailey Zappe, during this final meeting of the season.

In the event of a victory for the Baltimore Ravens, the Pittsburgh Steelers will approach their Week 18 NFL meeting with significantly less pressure since Mike Tomlin’s men are already qualified for the post-season. On the other hand, this meeting will remain important for the Cincinnati Bengals who must win to keep their playoff hopes alive until the final minutes of this NFL week 18.

Last places in the playoffs before the shock of the season!

This Sunday, the suspense will be at its peak in this week 18 NFL. In total, two tickets for the playoffs, one in each conference, still remain to be issued at the end of this final week of competition.

In the NFC, the suspense will end in the first part of the evening with the allocation of the 4th seed which will be contested, at the same time as the NFC South division title, between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Atlanta Falcons. To put it simply, a victory for the Buccaneers against the demobilized Saints would be enough to offer a 4th consecutive division title to Baker Mayfield’s teammates. But if the Saints win, the Falcons could take the opportunity to take this division title down to the wire in the event of a victory.

Later in the evening, it will be the Denver Broncos who will catalyze all the eyes of NFL lovers. If Sean Payton’s men win, they will qualify for the playoffs at the end of a particularly surprising 2024 season. If they fall against the Chiefs, the Dolphins could take advantage of the opportunity to take the last wild card spot in the event of a victory against the New York Jets. And if these two teams, Broncos and Dolphins, were to miss each other during this NFL week 18, the Bengals would benefit if they managed to get rid of the Steelers on Saturday.

Finally, this NFL week 18 and this 2024 regular season will end with the clash at the top of the NFC North, and the NFC in general, between the Detroit Lions and the Minnesota Vikings. The team that wins the game obtains the division title, the first seed in the NFC conference which offers home field advantage until the Super Bowl and a week of rest before entering the playoffs. The loser will have to travel to the number 4 seed next week! Terribly cruel but diabolically exciting!
