Ruben Van Gucht is known for his busy schedule and tireless efforts. However, the journalist and presenter knows perfectly well how to let go of his work when necessary. In a conversation with Humo, he explains how he learned through experience to manage stress.
“As I now have the necessary years of professional experience, I know better than before when I am sufficiently prepared,” says Van Gucht. “Once I reach that point, it’s easy for me to let go.” This approach allows him to feel relaxed, even during the most hectic times.
No early risers in the studio
Van Gucht also doesn’t like to be in the studio hours in advance. “I’m not someone who arrives at the studio an hour in advance to prepare for the broadcast,” he laughs. “My colleague Ine Beyen can tell you lots of stories about the times I showed up a minute and a half before the broadcast.”
The stress does not seem to have any effect on him, and this also reassures his colleagues. “I never stress,” says Van Gucht resolutely. “I always tell my colleagues: as long as I don’t call you, you don’t have to worry. I never had to call.
