Inter have released a statement confirming that Marcus Thuram has no serious muscle injury, but a huge doubt remains for the Supercoppa Italiana final against Milan.
Kick-off will be at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh on Monday 6 January at 19:00 GMT.
Thuram limped off at half-time during the 2-0 semi-final win over Atalanta after feeling a twinge in his thigh.
The club’s medical staff confirmed today that Thuram had undergone examinations and had only diagnosed a slight strain in the adductor muscles of his left thigh.
-The situation will continue to be assessed and a final decision is expected to be made tomorrow on whether he can play in the Supercoppa final.
Inter unlikely to risk Thuram
Given that a busy schedule is ahead, especially in Serie A and the Champions League, it is very unlikely that Simone Inzaghi would consider risking the star striker.
Mehdi Taremi is set to step into the starting XI alongside Lautaro Martinez, with Joaquin Correa and Marko Arnautovic also alternatives.
Benjamin Pavard and Francesco Acerbi are not part of the squad for the Supercoppa, also due to muscular problems.
