That is, Iserbyt 2025 is off to a strong start. “It’s a shame that it’s a little less technical”
“I felt tired before the race, because I gave a lot yesterday” declared Izerbytwho finished 6th in the X2O Trofee from Koksijde, Friday. If the 27-year-old Belgian recognized the superiority of his compatriot, he deplored the layout of the course which did not necessarily correspond to his qualities. “If the technical section had been at the end of the race and the race lane at the beginning, I might have won the race, because I think I was slightly better in the technical sections. But in the racing lanes and straights, i.e. the second half of the lap, Wout was certainly the best. So it was going to be difficult for me to win this cross. Then I had to enter this final phase in five to ten seconds. And I knew it wasn’t possible.”
After this great performance and this great week, That is, Iserbyt now turns to the Belgian cyclo-cross championship which will take place in Heusden-Zolder on January 12. If he is in good form, he has no illusions about a victory, on a course that does not necessarily suit him. “After Baal, I felt that my condition was good. But the Belgian Championship is a completely different competition, a little less technical and with many straight sections. It’s not really my strong point at the moment. For me, it’s a shame at the moment that it’s a little less technical.”
