It was an important moment which took place at the town hall. Indeed, Nathalie Nury handed over the keys to an office in the premises of the municipal building to Jean-Luc Cortial, director of Riposte (Inter-professional network of territorial social openness). It is from an experiment which took place in Nîmes, following the events of 2023, that a mediation action was set up on an experimental basis with different partners in the humanitarian, sporting and road sectors.
Thanks to subsidies from the Department, the Region and the State, more than 14,000 people were met in one year and many difficult situations were alleviated, as Amal Couvreur, regional advisor, points out. and Departmental Advisor. Today, the extension of this system to other territories has been decided, in particular semi-rural territories also facing difficulties with young people. The excellent relationships of trust with the Riposte association meant that it was chosen to carry out this work of needs analysis and mediation in the three municipalities which can benefit from the system, namely Pont-Saint-Esprit, Saint- Nazaire and Roquemaure. The signing of this agreement between Roquemaure and Riposte took place in the presence of Amal Couvreur, Philippe Marchal and Hélène Fabrègue, project managers in the city’s political service at the departmental council.
Facing difficult situations
Nathalie Nury clarified: “In Roquemaure, we have a part of the population who are experiencing difficulties and our young people need help.”
-From now on, two Riposte employees will be present in the municipality to carry out prevention and mediation work, two referent people who will work with different partners in order to better understand the territory concerned according to the needs which will be priorities. .
Young people aged 12 to 25 will find answers, help and support to face difficult situations. The office is located at the town hall.
