(Montreal) A 42-year-old woman who was found lifeless Thursday in a home in the LaSalle borough of Montreal was the victim of a murder. This is the first homicide of the year in the metropolitan area.

Officers from the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) were called around 11:35 a.m. to go to a home on Turley Street, near Dora Street, to check “the state of health of a no one,” explained spokesperson Mariane Allaire Morin.
The police then discovered the lifeless body of a 42-year-old woman. The scene was protected as the death was considered suspicious.
-The spokesperson confirmed in the evening that it was a homicide since traces of violence had been found on the victim’s body.
A suspect was arrested and taken to an investigation center to be questioned by police.
