In the event that Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor wish to exercise their exit option to terminate their contract, they could do so 24 hours before the winter transfer market closes, which this year ends on February 2. However, for now, both players only intend to continue playing for FC Barcelona.
On the other hand, contrary to what some club sources had taken for granted, if Olmo were to break his contract with Barcelona, it would be terminated, and he would not receive the rest of his salary until 2030, as confirmed by MD. However, Leipzig would remain entitled to claim the entire fixed sum of 48 million euros (excluding variables) agreed upon during the transfer last August. Furthermore, the unexpected negative impact on the accounts would amount to 40 million euros in the 2024-25 fiscal year due to the need to absorb this depreciation figure, which is currently set between 2025 and 2030 at a rate of 8 million euros per season.

Currently, there is only a personal contract between Barcelona and Olmo valid until 2030, since the federal contract, having been validated by LaLiga and the RFEF on August 26 due to the long-term injury of ‘Andreas Christensen, was in force until 11:59 p.m. on December 31, 2024. Therefore, early last month, the RFEF informed Barcelona that they had to renew this contract federal with Olmo before the end of the year with the obligatory approval of LaLiga. On Monday 30, Barcelona contacted the RFEF to request an extension of this federal contract, but they did so based on the individual contract signed with the player. This same procedure was followed with academy player Pau Víctor.
From the RFEF itself it was indicated to Barcelona early on Tuesday 31 that they could neither validate nor extend a contract without authorization from LaLiga. This was an issue they needed to resolve directly with the league.
