All predictions have come true, and the PDC World Darts Championship 2025 will see a dream final, between two of the most renowned darts players in the world: three-time world champion Michael van Gerwen and Luke Littler, the “child prodigy” who has taken the darts world by storm.

The World Darts Championship (most participants are from the UK or the Netherlands) started in mid-December and ends today, January 3. Yesterday, in the semi-finals, Van Gerwen defeated Chris Dobey, and Littler also took care of Stephen Bunting: both The matches ended with a score of 6-1.

Seeing how easily they demolished the other semi-finalists, it’s clear that van Gerwen and Littler are the kings of the sport right now. But who will win? Dutchman Michael van Gerwen, 35, has won the PDC world championship three times, in 2014, 2017 and 2019.

Littler, half his age, hasn’t won yet…but he came close last year, losing to Luke Humphries. “Michael has been to many finals; It’s only my second, but I know where I went wrong last year, and I’m sure I’ll put it right,” he said.

The World Darts Championship final will take place this evening, Friday January 3, at 7:30 p.m. GMT (8:30 p.m. CET).
