Around 5 p.m. this Thursday, January 2, 2025, a vehicle driving in the wrong direction on the A16 motorway caused a serious accident in the town of Neufchâtel-Hardelot (Pas-de-Calais). A 61-year-old woman and a 52-year-old man died. A third person was still in a state of absolute emergency yesterday evening.

A terrible accident occurred this Thursday, January 2, 2025 on the A16 motorway. In the commune of Neufchâtel-Hardelot, two vehicles collided, at full speed, around 5 p.m. according to the Pas-de-Calais firefighters.
One of the two cars had been traveling in the opposite direction for several kilometers, in the direction Paris-Dunkirk.
In the early evening, fifteen firefighters went to the scene to help the victims. The driver of the car traveling in the opposite direction on the highway, a 61-year-old woman, was declared dead by firefighters during the extrication.
In the other vehicle, one of the two people in the passenger compartment, a 52-year-old man, was also declared dead. A 46-year-old woman, the second occupant of the vehicle, was in a state of absolute emergency and was transported in absolute emergency to the CHAM (Hospital Center of the District of Montreuil-sur-mer). We have no further information regarding his state of health as of Friday morning.
